Joseph Ayai Aryee
Director
Joseph Ayai Aryee is a seasoned civil engineer, educator, and leader with over 4 decades of experience across Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States. He holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Poznan Technical University in Poland. Joseph began his career in Jamaica, where he served in various roles, including Director at the Estate Development Company and Managing Director of Hytech Associates Ltd., an engineering consulting firm he co-founded.
In 1996, he earned his Professional Engineer’s License and transitioned into academia, becoming a lecturer at the University of Science and Technology (UTech) in Jamaica. He served as the President of the Jamaica Institution of Engineers from 2007 to 2009 and contributed to the development of the National Building Code of Jamaica.
After relocating to the United States in 2013, Joseph worked with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and Northwell Health, overseeing large-scale design and construction projects in healthcare.
Joseph also serves on the Advisory Board and Executive Council of the West Africa Women Empowerment Foundation (WAWEF), bringing his leadership experience to empower women and communities across West Africa.
